DiveReady Privacy Policy

Overview

DiveReady is a scuba diving ballast and dive-conditions calculator for iOS, watchOS and Android. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used and your choices, in plain language.

DiveReady does not require or offer account creation. There is no login and the app does not build a profile of you across sessions or devices.

Body weight (Apple Health / Health Connect)

If you connect Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), DiveReady reads your most recent body weight to calculate your recommended ballast weight. This value:

• Is read-only. DiveReady never writes to Apple Health or Health Connect.
• Stays on your device. It is never sent to DiveReady's backend, to any analytics service, or to any third party, at any point.
• Can be entered manually instead, at any time, if you'd rather not connect to Health, or if you initially decline the health-data permission prompt.

This satisfies both platforms' health-data guidelines: health information is never used for advertising and is never shared with third parties.

Location

DiveReady uses your device location (or a dive site you search for and select manually) to:

• Determine whether you're diving in salt or fresh water.
• Fetch a representative photo of your dive location.
• Fetch tide, current and weather conditions for US and US-territory coastal waters.

To do this, your selected coordinates and/or location name are sent to DiveReady's own server, which passes them along to these third parties on your behalf as needed:

None of this is linked to your identity: DiveReady has no accounts and location data is not used for advertising, tracking, or building a profile of you.

You can deny location access entirely and instead type a location manually; features that depend on coastal tide/current/weather data simply won't be available for locations outside that coverage area.

Analytics

DiveReady uses an anonymous analytics service to understand aggregate feature usage - for example, which screens are viewed or which settings are changed. These events:

• Never include your body weight, precise location, or any other value you enter - only which feature or screen was used.
• Are not linked to advertising identifiers. DiveReady does not show ads and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• Can be turned off entirely at any time from DiveReady's Settings screen (Acknowledgements > Anonymous Analytics).

What DiveReady does not do

• No account creation, no passwords, no sign-in.
• No advertising and no data is sold or shared with data brokers or advertisers.
• No cross-app or cross-site tracking.
• Health data is never transmitted anywhere off your device.

Children's privacy

DiveReady is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's release notes.
